Photography has intrigued me for as far back as I can remember. A few years after college I took time to volunteer in Brazil and I taught visual storytelling to kids from local favelas. Some time later while I was completing my doctorate in education, I wove a photographic component into my dissertation theory and research.
I make photos for the love of the practice, and because of my strong interest in the stories of places and people. To continue to grow my skills I have taken workshops with Maggie Steber and Harvey Stein, and I am currently studying at the Austin School of Photography with Andrew Shapiro.
